What is classical poetry? The word "classical" describes poetry that is traditional in form, style, or content, based on methods developed over a long period of time and considered to be of lasting value. In keeping with the traditions of classical poetry, Kate Elizabeth Sgambati offers her second collection of poems in Book of Verse: Volume Two. The book contains eight chapters: Nature, Time, Hymns, Limericks, Love, Mortality, Children's Nook, and Narrative. Books are gratefully signed by the poet!

In reading and rereading the pages of Book of Verse: Volume Two, I am discovering a deeper appreciation and joy for each form of poetry displayed. I check the notes in the back of the book and find them helpful. Each category offers a variety of writings and special favorites. Some bring a smile while others a relatable deeper introspection. The Song of Ruth, the hymns, and the limericks are wonderful. From a Wife's Vantage and From a Husband's Vantage touched my heart. Each page feels like a special gift waiting to be opened. I keep Book of Verse: Volume Two alongside other Christ-centered daily reads and look forward to many years of enjoyment. Many thanks to the author. I highly recommend this book.
