Classical, or formal, poetry could be described as the art of composing inspired words, rhythm, rhyme, and form for the purpose of producing an image, a story, a feeling, or an idea in such a way that it comes alive in the reader’s mind. In keeping with the traditions of classical poetry, Kate Elizabeth Sgambati offers her first collection of poems in Book of Verse: Volume One. The book contains eight chapters: Seasons, Sonnets, Ballads, Death, Life, Wings, Remembrances, and Allegory. All books are gratefully signed by the poet!

    Excellent

The first volume of poetry is a treasure. The book is beautiful and would make a great gift for mother’s day, father's day or graduation. The poems are well written and thought provoking. I'm enjoying reading poems about Union County, GA written by a local poet who is extremely talented.

My favorite poem is The Broken Butterfly. Usually, I underline things, fold back pages and write in margins. However, this book is special and will remain unmarked even when read over and over again.
